365 Photo Project – Week 14

How are we doing after a week in our new town? We are loving it! The warm weather is on the top of our lists of things that give us the happy. I don’t think either of us realized just how much the cold weather of northern England was affecting us, but now that we’re all thawed out again there is a noticeable difference in how we feel, how we eat and how we act. Our moods have improved so much!

(To all our friends who have had to deal with our grouchy selves in the UK, we are sorry!)

We had forgotten how much we love to wear our shorts and flip flops and explore the streets without shivering.

Through the Neighborhood

We had forgotten how beautiful the fruit is in a warm and semi-tropical climate. That pear in the back of the box is nearly the size of my head! And we forgot how much we love the taste of pinha, which has a very short shelf life and is just not available in the chilly north.

And the pool! Dipping hot feet in the cool water with the sun on your back and a good book in your hand has to be one of life’s greater joys.

I know we were looking forward to moving back to Brazil because we had such good experiences here before, but this past week has reinforced our anticipation, and reminded us of yet another reason we’re happy to be back.  Aaaaah, relaxing warmth without bone shaking shivers.

What have you done this past week that you haven’t done for too long? What do you miss from you old life? Where would you go if you had the chance?

Add your link below and share your best photo from the past week. Let us know how you’re doing!

I totally hear you about the sun shining and wearing shorts and flip flops. We just arrived back in Toronto after 4 months on the road and the idea that I might have to put on shoes sucks big time!!
Also missing having fresh grapefruit every morning with breakfast.

I hear Toronto in the spring can be beautiful, but I think still too cold for me! Wishing you some barefoot weather and lots of fresh grapefruit. :)

So jealous of the lovely warm weather you are experiencing! Ok here in Cornwall it is milder than most of the uk but still chilly for what is supposed to be Spring. Glad you are happier and enjoying your lives to the max.

I loved your photos of life in Britain, but I am very happy to see tropical life back from Kilt and a Camera! The photo above is almost a ‘From Where I Stand’ which makes me very happy indeed. Enjoy the warmth, I’m very jealous!

Thanks so much for joining back in, I really enjoy your photos.

I knew you’d like the feet photo! lol. I actually thought of you when I took it. I’ll try to work in some more here and there through the year.

I’ve forgotten what it’s like to dangle your feet into warm water and feel the sun on your back and the breeze whispering through your hair. Have been back in UK too long. Suppose I could always retire abroad. Now there’s a thought !

Why not? There are so many places in the world to retire, which are SO much less expensive than the UK, and SO MUCH warmer, lol. Start planning!

Oh I love custard apples – I guess the Brazilians call them pinha? In Thailand they’re called noi nah. Glad to hear you’re settling in nicely and enjoying the return to tropical climes!

I love the pool photo but am very jealous as I would love to have my feet dipped into a pool with the sun on my back and a good book in my hand.
