When we made plans for my daughter to come visit us in England I started a list of things to do here with her. A sort of local Bucket List, if you will.
Some of the things on the list were things I had already done and knew she would enjoy, some were things I wanted to do with her for the first time.
We’ve been running around like mad women, keeping busy and marking things off that list like crazy. At this point, with only six days left before she leaves, we’ve nearly run out of things on the list. As this post goes live we’ll be in Edinburgh sleeping off a wild weekend of Burns Night celebrations, and when we wake up we’ll be catching a train to Aberdeen where we’ll take our very first ferry ride to visit the Shetland Islands and witness the wonder that is Up Helly Aa.
I’m hoping to get some pretty great photos up there. Through the fires? Through the ferry window? Through the party? Yes, I hope to get them all. I’m hoping there are no opportunities to shoot Through the storm, Through the blizzard or Through the disaster.
As for today, I’ll leave you with a photo taken from the center of the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, looking up the Tyne River. Walking across this bridge has been on my local bucket list since I arrived here, and I finally had the chance to do it with my Girl on a snowy, grey afternoon. I really love this town, and I love having my traveling girl here with me to experience it.
Now it’s your turn to share. Please link up below and share your best photo of the week. Remember to use the link of the blog post which includes your photo, or directly to the photo page of your photo hosting site of choice (ie. Flickr, Instagram, Picasa, etc.). Can’t wait to see what you’ve all been shooting this week!
